Credits
How credits work, if you want the detail
Your allowance is measured in credits so that different file types can cost different amounts — a PDF takes more work to read than a photo. Most people never need to think about this, which is why the plans above are quoted in files instead.
The file type is determined from the file's actual contents, not its extension, so
renaming a PDF does not become cheaper by calling it .png.

Things worth knowing up front
- You are never charged for our failures. If a rename fails — our service, the model provider, or a timeout — the credits are returned automatically.
- Credits do not roll over. Your balance resets at the start of each billing period rather than accumulating.
- There is no overage billing. At zero credits, renaming stops and the app tells you. You are never billed for more than your plan.
- Retrying the same file within a minute is free. If the app has to retry a request, you are charged once, not twice.
The alternative
Or bring your own API key and pay us nothing
NameItRight can talk directly to Anthropic using your own API key, or use an existing Claude Code installation on your machine. In either case you pay Anthropic for what you use and nothing to us.
The paid plans exist because most people would rather not create an API account, manage a key, and watch a usage dashboard. If you already have those things, use them.

Billing questions
What happens when I run out of credits?
Renaming stops and the app shows how many credits the file needed versus what you have left. Nothing is renamed, and nothing is charged. Your balance refreshes at the start of the next billing period.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes. Cancelling stops future charges and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancellation is self-service through the billing portal.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within the window described in our refund policy.
Do you offer a bigger plan?
Not yet. If 250 images a month is not enough for what you are doing, tell us — that is genuinely useful for deciding what to build next.
